Pakistani boat strays into Indian waters, Coast Guard seizes vessel and arrests nine

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) - In a major operation, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has seized a Pakistani boat illegally entering Indian waters via the Arabian Sea. Nine Pakistani nationals aboard the boat have been detained. All are being brought to Porbandar, Gujarat, for further investigation.
Suspicious boat caught during patrol
According to information provided by the Coast Guard, during a routine night patrol, a Pakistani fishing boat was spotted in Indian waters near the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL). When challenged by the Coast Guard ship, the boat immediately tried to flee towards Pakistan. The crew on board the boat panicked when the Coast Guard ship chased them. They were trying to escape by taking advantage of the darkness, but the ICG ship acted swiftly and intercepted the boat within Indian waters and boarded it.
9 crew members on board the boat 'Al-Madina'
During investigation, it was found that the name of the seized Pakistani boat was 'Al-Madina', on which a total of 9 crew members were present. The boat is being escorted by a Coast Guard ship to Porbandar, where the concerned security and intelligence agencies will conduct a detailed search and joint interrogation. This action reflects the continuous surveillance and strict law enforcement in India's maritime area. The Indian Coast Guard has made it clear that no laxity will be tolerated in the security of the country's maritime borders and strict action will be taken against every attempt of illegal infiltration.
