Palestine Action Protests Turn Violent: More Than 400 Arrested Outside UK Parliament

London (The Uttam Hindu): A massive protest outside the UK Parliament against the ban on a pro-Palestine group turned violent, after which London police took massive action and arrested more than 400 people. The protest was organized to protest the UK government's decision to declare the 'Palestine Action' group a terrorist organization, in which thousands of people participated.

According to the group 'Defend Our Juries' which organised the protest, around 1500 people attended the rally. The protesters were carrying placards with slogans like 'I oppose genocide, I support Palestinian action'. Soon the atmosphere became tense and the police started arresting the protesters. During this time, other people present there were seen raising slogans like 'Shame on you' against the police action.

Police informed that more than 425 people were arrested till late evening. Out of these, more than 25 people have been accused of attacking officers and disrupting public order, while the rest of the protesters have been arrested under the Terrorism Act, which has made the matter even more serious.
