Washington (The Uttam Hindu): Amidst reports of weapons shortages in the US, a report has emerged that has created a stir around the world. The American newspaper "Wall Street Journal" has revealed in a report that the Pentagon is preparing for a possible future conflict with China. According to the report, the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) has ordered its missile suppliers to double or even quadruple the production of some key missiles.

The Wall Street Journal, citing people familiar with the matter, reported that Pentagon officials are holding frequent high-level meetings to accelerate the production of critical weapons in high demand. This entire mission is being personally overseen by US Deputy Defense Secretary Steve Feinberg. According to the report, Feinberg convenes officials from arms manufacturing companies every week to discuss the issue, reflecting the seriousness of the matter. However, no official comment has been made by the Pentagon or other US officials since this sensational report surfaced.

This move is significant because last July, the US expressed serious concern about a shortage in its weapons stockpile. This shortage led the White House to halt some weapons deliveries to Ukraine, citing the need to prioritize US interests. Reports at the time revealed that US stockpiles of essential weapons, such as anti-aircraft missiles, long-range missiles, and 155mm artillery shells, had fallen to dangerously low levels.
