Canada in Chaos: Plane Hijacker Claims Divine Mission, F-15 Jets Scramble

Vancouver (The Uttam Hindu): In a very strange incident in Vancouver, Canada, a man who claimed to be 'Allah's messenger' and 'messiah' hijacked a small plane. His aim was to save the world from climate change. There was a stir after the incident and the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) had to send F-15 fighter planes after the hijacked plane. After a lot of hard work, the plane was landed safely, after which the officials and people heaved a sigh of relief.
According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the incident took place on Tuesday when 39-year-old Canadian citizen Shahir Qasim threatened a flight instructor at Victoria International Airport and took over the Cessna aircraft. He then flew about 64 kilometers to Vancouver. Police have charged Qasim with aggravated terrorist hijacking.
According to investigators, Qasim took this step due to ideological motivation. Calling himself a 'messenger of Allah', he claimed that 'angel Gabriel' has given him a message to save humanity from global warming. Qasim also runs an 'Arctic News' blog on social media under the name 'Sam Karana', in which he has been writing about the dangers of climate change in the Arctic.
The profile of the accused Qasim is also surprising. He was a pilot for a small airline 'KD Air' from 2008 to 2010. His former bosses described him as one of the 'smartest and best pilots' they had worked with. They also said that Qasim believed that the world was coming to an end and that he had gone to medical school after getting bored with his airline job.
British Columbia Premier David Eby described the incident as "bizarre" but praised the skill of authorities who averted the crisis without major casualties.
