New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in India on a two-day visit. On Friday, President Putin was formally welcomed at Rashtrapati Bhavan and presented with a guard of honor. Putin was accompanied by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Draupadi Murmu. Russian President Putin then proceeded to Rajghat, where he paid tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.

Earlier on Thursday, upon arriving in Delhi, PM Modi received President Putin at the airport. Both leaders traveled in the same car to the Prime Minister's residence. Today is the second day of Putin's visit to India. This day is expected to be crucial for relations between the two countries. Important agreements are expected to be signed in areas ranging from defense to nuclear energy.


Today's meeting will focus on several agreements related to trade, defense, and energy, which the two leaders will announce at a joint press conference. At 7 p.m., Putin will travel to Rashtrapati Bhavan for a meeting with Indian President Draupadi Murmu. This is Putin's first visit to India since the Russia-Ukraine war began in 2022.
