Iran proposes regional security framework, reiterates conditions to end war
The conditions for ending the war include an immediate cessation of US and Israeli "aggressions" and guarantees that such attacks won't be repeated

Tehran (The Uttam Hindu): Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian proposed the creation of a security framework involving countries in the region to ensure peace, security and stability in West Asia without any foreign interference. He also reiterated the conditions for ending the ongoing war. He made this remark in a phone call with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which the two sides discussed mutual relations as well as the new regional and international developments following the US and Israeli attacks on Iran, the agency reported.
The report said that Pezeshkian said that Iran's first condition for ending the war is an immediate halt to US and Israeli attacks and guarantees that such attacks will not happen again in the future. He strongly condemned the US and Israel for the assassination of Iran's former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, senior military commanders and civilians, and for targeting the country's public infrastructure.
Yesterday, US President Donald Trump claimed that the war was aimed at preventing the country from developing nuclear weapons. However, Pezeshkian rejected the US president's claims and stressed that Iran's former leader was strongly against developing nuclear weapons and had issued the necessary orders to prevent any such attempt.
During the conversation, PM Modi expressed "deep concern" over the rising tensions in the region, strongly condemned any attack on the energy infrastructure in the region and appealed to ensure security in the Strait of Hormuz and freedom of navigation in the Gulf.
On February 28, Israel and the United States launched joint attacks on Tehran and several other Iranian cities, killing Ali Khamenei, senior Iranian military commanders, and civilians. Iran responded with a series of missile and drone attacks targeting US bases and assets in Israel and the Middle East.
