"Iran wanted me to be its supreme leader, but I refused", Trump makes surprising claim

Washington (The Uttam Hindu): Amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, Donald Trump has made a statement that has stirred international politics. At a Republican fundraiser, Trump claimed that the leadership of war-torn Iran had offered him the position of the country's next "Supreme Leader."
"I don't want that job," Trump said jokingly, adding that the Iranian leadership approached him with the offer. He said he was told, "We want you to be our next Supreme Leader." Trump replied, "No thanks, I don't want that position." He added sarcastically that under the current circumstances, hardly any leader would want to take charge of Iran.
In his address, Trump launched a scathing attack on the situation in Iran, claiming that Iran is internally weakened and desperate for a deal, but is afraid to say so publicly. According to him, the Iranian leadership is afraid of its own people and external threats.
Meanwhile , speculation is rife about the leadership of Iran. Following reports of Ali Khamenei's death, power has become uncertain. His son, Mojtaba Khamenei, is considered a potential successor, but he has not been seen in public since recent events.
However, Tehran has categorically rejected Trump's claims. Iranian officials say there have been no such offers or official talks. They say there are currently only limited messages being exchanged about war, not any substantive negotiations. Amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, Trump's statement could further intensify the diplomatic debate.
