New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Police has arrested a woman who blackmailed Buddhist monks by having sexual relationship with them in Thailand. It has come to light that the woman has earned about 102 crore rupees by blackmailing Buddhist monks.

Police arrested the woman from her luxurious house in Nonthaburi, North of Bangkok. 35-year-old woman Vilawan Amsawat had physical relations with Buddhist monks and blackmailed them by making pictures and videos of it. Videos of sex with many Buddhist monks and blackmailing chats have been found on her phone. Police recovered more than 80 thousand nude files from the woman's house, which she used to blackmail Buddhist monks and extort money.

This case came to light in June, when the head of a Buddhist monastery in Bangkok suddenly went missing. Police believe that he left Wat Tri Thotsathep Monastery after being blackmailed by a woman. Now the accused woman has claimed that the head is the father of her child. There is a lot of anger among the people after the names of such a large number of Buddhist monks have come to light in this scandal.

Officials claim that the woman has earned about Rs 102 crore by blackmailing Buddhist monks in the last 3 years. The Royal Thai Police Central Investigation Bureau said that about 9 abbots involved in the scandal have been removed from the post of nun. The woman is also accused of extortion, money laundering and receiving stolen goods. At present, the case is being processed by the police.
