To Bomb or Not to Bomb: Trump Delays Call on Iran Strike

New York (The Uttam Hindu): White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt said in a press briefing that US President Donald Trump will decide in the next two weeks whether to order an attack on Iran. Levitt read out a statement on behalf of Trump, in which he responded to speculations about whether the US would directly get involved in the conflict between Iran and Israel. Levitt said, "If there is a diplomatic agreement with Iran, Iran will have to agree on uranium enrichment and will not be allowed to make nuclear weapons." Levitt informed that talks are going on between the US and Iran.
Since Israel's attacks on Iran on June 13, US envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi have held several phone calls to find a diplomatic solution to the crisis, Xinhua news agency reported. In the talks, the US proposed uranium enrichment by a regional group outside Iran, but Iran rejected it, local media quoted three diplomats (who asked not to be named) as saying.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told US envoy Steve Witkoff that Tehran could consider resolving the nuclear issue if the US pressured Israel to end the war. However, he also said that Iran would not return to talks until Israel stopped attacks, local media quoted a regional diplomat as saying.
According to media reports, Trump approved plans to attack Iran on Tuesday night. However, he has postponed the final decision in case Iran abandons its nuclear program. Let us tell you that the tension between Israel and Iran has increased a lot. Both countries are constantly targeting each other.
