Tragic accident of bus carrying students, 15 dead on the spot, PM mourns

Kuala Lumpu (The Uttam Hindu): At least15 people were killed when a bus carrying students was hit by a multi-purpose vehicle on the East-West Highway in Perak state on Monday morning, officials said.

The Civil Defence Force said in a statement that 48 people were involved in the collision, which occurred at 1:10am local time, 13 of whom were found dead at the scene. Two more victims were reported dead in hospital, according to Bernama.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has expressed his condolences to the families of all those killed in the accident and directed the Ministry of Higher Education to coordinate appropriate assistance for the families of the victims.
