Tragic Plane Crash in Kentucky: 4 Dead, 11 Injured After UPS Cargo Plane Crashes Post Takeoff

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A horrifying plane crash occurred at Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport in Kentucky, USA. On Tuesday evening, a UPS cargo plane crashed just seconds after takeoff, killing four people, including three crew members, and injuring at least eleven others.
Moments after the crash, massive flames erupted and spread rapidly across the nearby area. According to reports, the aircraft was carrying around 2.5 lakh gallons of fuel, which caused the fire to intensify immediately after impact.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the UPS MD-11 aircraft crashed shortly after taking off near Louisville Airport. The FAA said in a statement that UPS Flight 2976 went down shortly after 5 PM local time. The plane was en route to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport in Honolulu.
The FAA further confirmed that it is working jointly with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) to investigate the incident. The NTSB will lead the full investigation into the cause of the crash.
Louisville Airport’s Public Information Officer, Jonathan Beaven, confirmed the fatalities, saying, “I can confirm that four people have died. At least eleven others have been injured and transported to nearby hospitals.”
Following the crash, all flights departing from Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport were canceled for the night. Airport officials advised travelers to check directly with their airlines for updates if they were scheduled to fly later that night or the following day.
