Donald Trump issues warning to Iran over laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz.
Donald Trump warns Iran against laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz, threatening strong action.

Washington (The Uttam Hindu): US President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Iran. He has said that if Iran attempts to lay sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz, the US will take major military action against it. Meanwhile, the US military attacked and destroyed 10 boats suspected of laying landmines in the vital shipping route, raising tensions in one of the world's most important energy corridors.
Trump issued the warning in a post on the Truth social media, saying Washington is closely monitoring any possible attempts to mine the narrow waterway connecting the Persian Gulf to global energy markets. "If Iran has laid any landmines in the Strait of Hormuz and we have no reports of them, we want them removed immediately," he said. The US president warned Tehran that failure to remove any such landmines would result in unprecedented military action. Trump also said the US is prepared to use advanced technology and missile capabilities to prevent any attempts to mine the strategic waterway.
Trump said, "We are using the same technologies and missile capabilities deployed against drug traffickers to permanently destroy any boat or ship attempting to mine the Strait of Hormuz." Immediately following this warning, Trump wrote, "I am pleased to report that in the past few hours we have targeted and completely destroyed 10 inactive minelaying boats and/or ships. Further action will continue."
Meanwhile, US Central Command confirmed these operations and said that US military forces continue to conduct strikes as part of a comprehensive campaign against Iranian capabilities at sea. Hundreds of air assets continue to deliver devastating combat power against the Iranian regime during Operation Epic Fury.
US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said these operations were conducted under the direct orders of the President and were aimed at preventing threats to global maritime lanes. At President Trump's direction, CENTCOM is destroying minelaying vessels idling in the Strait of Hormuz. We will not allow terrorists to hold the Strait of Hormuz hostage.
The US Central Command said these military operations were aimed at limiting Iran's ability to threaten commercial vessels and project power at sea. US forces are degrading the Iranian regime's ability to project power at sea and harass international shipping. "For years, Iranian forces have threatened freedom of navigation in waters that are essential to US, regional, and global security and prosperity," it said.
