Trump's shocking admission: Raised tariffs on Switzerland because he didn't like female leader's tone

Washington (The Uttam Hindu): US President Donald Trump is known for his outspoken and often surprising decisions. Now, he has revealed a very strange reason behind increasing import duties (tariffs) on Switzerland. Trump has clearly stated that he did not like the tone of the Swiss female leader. The female leader was constantly complaining about being a small country on the phone, which angered the US President, who instead of providing tax relief, increased it further.
The woman leader was not keeping her phone, she repeatedly argued
In an interview with Fox News, Trump mentioned his phone call with Swiss Federal Council member Karin Keller-Sutter. Trump said that he had previously imposed a 30 percent tariff on Switzerland, which he thought was too low. After this, he received a call from Switzerland. Trump thought she was the Prime Minister of that country. During the conversation, the female leader was quite aggressive, although she spoke politely. She repeatedly told Trump, "Sir, we are a very small country, we will not be able to bear this burden, we cannot do this." Trump said that she was not ready to hang up the phone and was continuously arguing.
When he got angry, he increased the tax as punishment
Trump said in the interview that he was annoyed by the woman leader's monotonous talk and manner. She kept saying that we are a small country, but Trump reminded her that despite being a small country, they have a trade deficit of 42 billion dollars with America. Trump said that I did not like her way of talking at all. So instead of giving her concessions, I increased the tariff from 30 percent to 39 percent as a punishment. Trump claimed that Switzerland was exporting its goods to America, but was not paying any tariff in return.
Trump appeared confused about the position, even though it was mentioned in Davos
Trump had previously mentioned this incident at the World Economic Forum in Davos. There, too, he said that a woman, possibly the president or prime minister, repeatedly told him, "You can't do this." However, it's worth noting that Switzerland has a different system of government. There's no single prime minister or president; instead, the government is run by a seven-member Federal Council. The woman Trump mistook for the prime minister was actually a member of the council.
