Major Move on Gaza Conflict: Turkey Cuts All Trade Ties with Israel, Closes Airspace

Istanbul (The Uttam Hindu): In a significant development amid the ongoing Gaza conflict, Turkey has officially announced the termination of all trade and economic relations with Israel. Additionally, Turkey has closed its airspace to Israeli aircraft.

This move comes in response to Israel's continued military actions and its alleged attempt to gain full control over Gaza City. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated on Friday that if Israel does not halt its military operations, the entire region risks descending into a larger conflict. He urged the international community and major powers to stop supporting Israel and take concrete action against its aggression.

Fidan made it clear that no Turkish ships will dock at Israeli ports, and Israeli vessels will also not be permitted to enter Turkish ports.

Turkey has been a strong critic of Israeli strikes on Gaza since the beginning of the conflict. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has repeatedly condemned the Israeli actions, describing them as genocide. He has even compared Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Adolf Hitler, further escalating diplomatic tensions between the two nations.
