Ultimatum to Zelensky: Sign the peace agreement by November 27 or be removed from office and jailed

New York (The Uttam Hindu): US President Donald Trump has issued a strict ultimatum to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky regarding the proposed 28-point peace agreement aimed at ending the Russia-Ukraine war. According to a message sent through the US State Department, Zelensky must sign the agreement by November 27, failing which he will be removed from power and sent to prison. Trump has clearly stated that the US now wants the war to end at any cost, and Zelensky must make a quick decision.
Meanwhile, Zelensky is already under pressure due to serious corruption allegations against some of his close aides. Two cabinet ministers were removed recently after being accused of corruption. It is believed that these cases could soon affect Zelensky directly, and the US is using the situation to push him toward accepting the peace deal.
The US administration has prepared a confidential 28-point plan to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. Under this plan, Ukraine will remain a sovereign nation, but several conditions related to security and borders will apply. The US wants long-standing tensions between Europe, Russia, and Ukraine to end completely, with Russia guaranteeing that it will not launch any future attacks. The plan also aims to halt NATO’s expansion.
Ukraine, however, disagrees with several parts of the proposal. The main objection is the requirement to recognize Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk as parts of Russia. Ukraine is also unwilling to accept the “status-quo” clause for Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, which states that territories will remain under whoever currently controls them. Ukraine maintains that it will not surrender these regions to Russia under any circumstances.
