Texas (Uttam Hindu News): A major rail accident has occurred in the US state of Texas, where 35 coaches of a Union Pacific freight train derailed. This incident took place near Gordon town, which is located about 100 kilometers southwest of Fort Worth. It is a matter of relief that there is no report of anyone being injured in this incident.

The pictures after the accident are horrific, in which many coaches are seen piled up on top of each other and turned into a pile of rubble. Emergency services of Palo Pinto County have described the accident as 'dangerous'. However, it is not yet clear what goods were loaded in these coaches of the train.

According to officials, there were no reports of any leaks from any compartment, thus averting a major danger. Union Pacific spokeswoman Robin Tisver said the accident caused a fire in nearby grass, which was extinguished by the fire department after taking precautionary measures.

The cause of the accident is not known yet. The railways and the local administration have jointly started investigating the matter. Officials have also confirmed that there is no damage to any of the surrounding buildings.

The work of removing the coaches from the track and repairing the track will be started soon so that rail traffic can be restored again. The administration has appealed to the local people not to obstruct the investigation and rescue work and to stay away from the spot.
