US foils massacre plot: Pakistani-origin student arrested, machine gun & ‘kill list’ seized from his home

Washington (The Uttam Hindu): A major terrorist plot has been foiled in the US state of Delaware. In a joint operation, the FBI and local police arrested 25-year-old Pakistani-origin student Luqman Khan. The University of Delaware student was planning a mass shooting on campus.
Investigating agencies recovered a handwritten notebook from Luqman, containing chilling statements. Sentences like "Kill Everyone" and "Martyrdom is the greatest thing" were repeatedly written in the notebook .
Furthermore, the diary contained a complete "blueprint" for the attack. It included a layout of the University of Delaware police station, information about entrances and exits, and even the name of a police officer. The diary also detailed how to evade police and FBI scrutiny after the attack.
A cache of weapons was recovered from the house
After the arrest, when the FBI raided Luqman's Wilmington residence, a large cache of illegal weapons was recovered from there. During the search, an AR-style rifle equipped with a red-dot scope and a modified Glock pistol were found. Shockingly, this pistol had been converted into a 'fully automatic machine gun' through an illegal device, capable of firing 1,200 rounds per minute. Apart from this, the investigating agency also recovered 11 extra magazines, deadly hollow-point bullets and a bulletproof jacket (body armor) from the spot, which indicates his dangerous intentions.
According to reports, Luqman Khan was born in Pakistan but has lived in the United States since childhood and holds American citizenship. In a statement to police after his arrest, he said, "Being a martyr is one of the greatest things. "
Police say all the weapons recovered from Lukman were illegal and none were registered. He is currently in jail, and the FBI is investigating whether he had any accomplices in the plot or whether he was planning a lone wolf attack.
