Iran's representative urges global leaders to prevent war, citing responsibility to stop conflict
Iran's representative, Dr. Abdul Majid Hakim Elahi, states Iran doesn't want war, blaming the current conflict on interrupted talks. He appeals to global leaders to pressure the US to prevent escalation, citing civilian suffering and Iran's right to self-defense

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Amidst the ongoing tension in West Asia, Dr. Abdul Majid Hakim Elahi, representative of Iran's Supreme Leader in India, has given a big statement saying that Iran did not want war and the current conflict started at a time when Iran was trying to find a solution through talks.
Speaking to a private news agency, Elahi stated that Iran is not responsible for the situation in the region. According to him, the talks were attacked while they were ongoing, leading to a war-like situation. Elahi stated that Iran can never be happy with the suffering of its people or the shortages of gas, petrol, and oil. He stressed that Iran wants peace, but it is its right and obligation to protect its security and sovereignty.
Appeal to world leaders to pressure the United States
The representative of Iran appealed to world leaders to pressure the United States to prevent war. He said that the conflict was affecting civilians the most and that it was the responsibility of global leadership to take concrete steps to restore peace.
Indian ships allowed through the Strait of Hormuz
In response to a question about the movement of Indian ships, Elahi said that there would be no obstacles to the unhindered passage of Indian ships through the Strait of Hormuz. He added that he had received information that the Iranian Embassy had attempted to assist some Indian ships in safely passing through the Strait.
Responding to criticism over retaliatory strikes, Elahi said that despite being thousands of miles away from Iran, the US has established several military bases around Iran. He claimed that the US has established around 45 bases in the region, which are being used for attacks on Iran. According to Elahi, before the war, Iran had requested neighboring countries not to allow their land to be used against Iran.
Elahi alleged that missiles fired from Bahrain killed a large number of innocent people. He said that in such a situation, Iran had no choice but to retaliate for its own security. He reiterated that Iran's objective was not war, but to ensure its security and maintain stability in the region.
