Trade Talks Intensify: Trump Suggests Major US-India Agreement Amid China Negotiations

Washington (Uttam Hindu News): US President Donald Trump said in the Big Beautiful Bill event that America is going to make a very big deal with India. In this event held in the White House, Trump also said that the deal with China has been done. On April 2, America had announced to impose 26% extra tariff on some goods coming from India. However, it has been postponed for 90 days. Now this tax can be implemented again after July 9, but before that Trump has given big hints by talking about the deal. India wants to get complete exemption from this extra tax. On the other hand, America wants India to give it tax exemption on some special products.
Pointing to the trade deal, Trump said, "Everybody wants to make a deal and be a part of it. Remember a few months ago, the press was saying, is there really anybody out there interested? Well, we just signed one yesterday with China. We're making some great deals. We've got another deal coming up, probably with India. Very big. Where we're opening up India, in the China deal, we're starting to open up China."
Trump stressed that deals will not be made with every other country. He said, "We are not going to make deals with everyone. To some people we will just send a letter and say thank you very much. You have to pay 25, 35, 45 percent, this is the easy way.
Tension in US-China relations
However, Trump did not talk in detail about the deal made with China during this time. In early June, CNN reported that the US and China had signed a new trade agreement. Earlier, Trump had started a tariff war against China. The kind of steps taken by Trump were leading to tension in the relations between the US and China.
