Washington (The Uttam Hindu): The conflict that erupted between the United States and Iran on February 28 is becoming more intense with each passing day. While the US and Israel continue launching missile strikes on Iran, Tehran has also vowed revenge for the killing of its Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Amid rising tensions, a shocking figure has emerged that has drawn global attention. According to reports, the United States has been spending massive amounts of money in the conflict and has already spent billions of dollars within just a few days.

$11.3 billion spent within a week in ‘Operation Epic Fury’

According to sources linked to the Pentagon, the United States has spent at least $11.3 billion during the first week of the war. A report by AP News revealed that this figure was shared with US lawmakers during a closed-door briefing.

During the meeting, several other important updates related to the military campaign called “Operation Epic Fury” were also shared. Earlier reports had claimed that the US spent nearly $5 billion within just the first two days after the war began.

Will the war end soon? Donald Trump makes big claim

Amid reports of massive war spending, US President Donald Trump made a major claim that has sparked global discussion. Trump indicated that the ongoing conflict in Iran may end soon.

In a phone interview with Axios, he expressed satisfaction with the progress of the war and said that the United States has achieved almost all of its objectives. Trump stated that the war was progressing “very well” and that the US military was ahead of its planned timeline and targets. He also said that the strikes had caused more damage than initially expected.

“This is revenge for 47 years of destruction”

During the interview, Trump adopted an aggressive tone and described the conflict as an act of retaliation. He said Iran had been spreading death and destruction for 47 years and was now paying the price.

Trump warned that Iran would not escape easily and asserted America’s military strength by saying, “Whenever I want this to end, it will end.” Meanwhile, Iran has also made it clear that it is not willing to step back and stated that the outcome of the conflict will be decided by Iran, not the United States.
