Washington (The Uttam Hindu): US President Donald Trump stated that the United States may begin blocking all ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz after talks with Iran in Islamabad failed to reach a final agreement. He shared his remarks on the social media platform Truth Social, highlighting disagreements over the Hormuz route and nuclear issues.
In his posts, Trump claimed that while both sides agreed on several matters, no consensus was reached on key concerns related to the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s nuclear program. As a result, he announced that the US Navy would initiate actions to stop any vessel attempting to enter or exit the strategic waterway.
Trump also alleged that Iran has been using the presence of possible sea mines as a justification to restrict ship movement. He described this as an attempt to exert pressure on global trade and termed it “forced extortion,” stating that the United States would not accept such actions.
He further said that the US Navy has been instructed to identify and stop ships that may have paid any form of “toll” to Iran for safe passage. According to him, such payments would not guarantee safe navigation in international waters. He also mentioned that US forces would begin neutralizing any sea mines placed in the region.
The US President warned that any hostile action against American forces or peaceful vessels would be met with strong retaliation. He added that the proposed blockade could involve support from other countries and emphasized that the US military remains fully prepared for further developments.
