New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu) – The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has expressed deep concern over the recent developments in Venezuela. The Ministry stated that India is closely monitoring the situation and urges all concerned parties to seek a solution through dialogue to maintain peace and stability in the region. The Ministry clarified that India reiterates its commitment to the safety and well-being of the Venezuelan people.

Emphasis on resolution through dialogue

In a press release, the Ministry of External Affairs stated that in the current situation, it is the responsibility of all parties to ensure peace, stability, and law and order while avoiding conflict. India appealed for the resolution of any dispute through diplomatic dialogue rather than the use of force.

Travel Advisory for Indians:

In view of the increasing instability in Venezuela, the Ministry of External Affairs has advised Indian nationals to avoid non-essential travel to the country. Indians living in Venezuela have been advised to exercise extreme caution, restrict their movements, and remain in contact with the Indian Embassy in Caracas.

Indian Embassy on alert mode

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the Indian Embassy in Caracas is in constant contact with the Indian community living there and is providing all possible assistance. Currently, there are approximately 50 Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and about 30 people of Indian origin residing in Venezuela.

The advisory comes amid heightened

political uncertainty in Venezuela following US military action and claims of detaining President Nicolas Maduro. Several countries, including Russia and China, have criticized Washington for this development. The Ministry of External Affairs reiterated that India considers a peaceful resolution of the situation in the region and the safety of civilians its highest priority.
