4 Steps to a Drug-Free Punjab: Kejriwal Launches 'Nasha Mukti Yatra' to Eradicate Drug Abuse
Nawanshahar(The Uttam Hindu): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal has launched the 'Nasha Mukti Yatra' under the 'War against Drugs' campaign in Nawanshahr, Punjab. He emphasized the need for collective action to eliminate drug abuse, stating that the people of Punjab are determined to fight against this menace.
Commitment to Eradicate Drug Abuse
Kejriwal expressed his willingness to sacrifice his life to save future generations from drug abuse. He highlighted the government's efforts to crack down on drug smugglers, including demolishing their properties. The 'Nasha Mukti Yatra' aims to make the war against drugs a mass movement in Punjab.
Four Key Promises
The campaign is based on four key promises:
1. Oath against drug consumption: People will take an oath to refrain from consuming drugs and take responsibility for their areas.
2. No drugs in villages: Villages will be made drug-free, with the support of police, administration and politicians.
3. No bail for drug dealers: Those caught dealing drugs will not be bailed out, even if they have close connections.
4. De-addiction efforts: Efforts will be made to free people trapped in drug addiction, with the help of OAT clinics and de-addiction centers.
Mass Movement Against Drugs
Kejriwal plans to visit 13,000 villages and every ward in cities over the next one and a half months to spread awareness and garner support for the campaign. The goal is to make Punjab drug-free through collective action.
