Amritsar(The Uttam Hindu): The troubles of jailed former Akali Dal minister Bikram Singh Majithia continue to escalate as the Vigilance Bureau Mohali conducted another raid at his Green Avenue residence on Wednesday morning.

According to sources, the team arrived to search for crucial documents related to the disproportionate assets case, which remain untraceable despite earlier searches. Before the operation, the Vigilance Bureau informed the local police, who swiftly sealed off all approach roads to Majithia’s residence with heavy barricading to maintain security during the raid.

This is the second raid within 24 hours. On Tuesday, officials had also searched the premises but failed to recover certain key papers linked to the ongoing investigation. The renewed search suggests that investigators have gathered fresh leads or suspect the presence of undisclosed evidence at the property.

Majithia, a prominent Shiromani Akali Dal leader, is currently lodged in jail as the case against him intensifies. The repeated raids underline the Vigilance Bureau’s resolve to tighten the noose around him, signaling more legal trouble ahead.

Majithia has been facing multiple allegations related to illegal assets and financial irregularities, sparking a major political controversy in Punjab. With the latest developments, the case appears to be entering a crucial phase as investigators push harder to uncover hidden wealth and evidence.
