New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A major disaster struck North-East Delhi's Welcome area on Saturday morning when a four-storey building collapsed, burying at least 12 people under the debris. So far, four survivors have been rescued, while the fate of the remaining trapped individuals is still uncertain.

The incident occurred on Eidgah Road in Seelampur’s Janata Colony, triggering panic across the densely populated neighborhood. As soon as the building crumbled, locals alerted fire and police departments, and within minutes, seven teams from the fire brigade arrived at the scene to begin an intense rescue operation.

Eyewitnesses and local residents were the first to respond, rushing to remove debris with bare hands to search for survivors. Firefighters are now working alongside them, carefully removing bricks one by one in hopes of saving lives still buried underneath.

According to officials, eight people are still feared trapped under the rubble. The exact cause of the collapse is not yet known. Injured victims have been rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Authorities fear that more individuals may be stuck underneath as the building was fully occupied.
