Balrampur (The Uttam Hindu): In a tragic road accident in Balrampur district of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday morning, 5 baraatis returning from a wedding died on the spot. The accident took place near Chakwa village on Bahraich road, where a speeding truck hit an Ertiga car. There were a total of 12 people in the car, out of which the rest of the injured passengers have been admitted to the hospital.

The wedding guests left for Gonda late at night in an Ertiga car, but a speeding truck hit their car near Chakva village of Balrampur. Seven other wedding guests present in the car were seriously injured and have been admitted to the District Memorial Hospital. A team of doctors is keeping an eye on their condition.

As soon as the incident was reported, local police and administrative officials reached the spot. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem. The police have started searching for the truck driver, who fled after the accident.
