In the latest development, during the shooting of the film, a boat capsized in the reservoir, in which 30 other people including the lead actor and director Rishab Shetty were aboard. However, everyone escaped safely.

According to police sources, the incident took place at Mani reservoir in Masti Katte area of Shivamogga district. It was reported that the boat capsized in the shallow part of the reservoir, averting a major accident. However, there is a possibility of the camera and other shooting equipment getting submerged in the water, which is still being assessed. It is worth noting that since the beginning of the shooting of 'Kantara: Chapter 1', there have been many obstacles. Earlier this year, the local people accused the film crew of harming the forests and animals, due to which the shooting was surrounded by controversies. Apart from this, in November last year, a bus carrying the junior artists of the film met with an accident, in which six people were injured and the shooting was affected.

Recently, the film has also lost three of its actors. Veteran actor Kalabhavan Neeju passed away after suffering from chest pain on the shooting set. Earlier, in May, actor and comedian Rakesh Pujare died of cardiac arrest. Meanwhile, a junior artist M.F. Kapil, who was working for the film in Udupi district, died tragically after drowning in a river, following which the shooting was halted for some time.

'Kantara: Chapter 1' is scheduled to release in October this year, but these frequent incidents on the sets have affected the shooting of the film a lot. Despite these difficulties, the film's team is committed to complete the shooting and release the film on time.
