Monsoon Session of Parliament Scheduled from July 21 to August 12; Operation Sindoor to Be Discussed
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday announced the dates of the monsoon session of Parliament. The session will begin on July 21 and will continue till August 12. This announcement has come at a time when the opposition was demanding a special session on Operation Sindoor. However, the government has agreed to discuss this issue in the monsoon session itself.
Rijiju said that after a gap of more than three months, both the Houses of Parliament will resume on July 21 at 11 am. Earlier, the budget session of Parliament began on January 31 and was adjourned indefinitely on April 4.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the government considers every session important and is ready to discuss all important issues including Operation Sindoor. Appealing to the opposition for cooperation, he said that the government wants to take everyone along and hopes that the opposition will also take a united stand. He clarified that all relevant issues will be discussed during the monsoon session as per the rules.
The opposition, which had written a letter to Prime Minister Modi on Tuesday demanding a special session on Operation Sindoor, may now question the government on the issue during the monsoon session. The opposition was demanding a special session from the government on issues like Pahalgam attack, Operation Sindoor and claims made by US President Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the India Alliance had reiterated the demand for a special session of Parliament in a press conference. Alliance leader Deepender Hooda had said that a special session is necessary to discuss the questions raised on the Pahalgam attack, Operation Sindoor, the bravery of the soldiers and the statements of President Trump, so that the world as well as the Parliament can get information on these matters.
According to sources, issues related to Pakistan are also likely to be discussed in the monsoon session. The opposition may ask many questions to the government regarding Operation Sindoor. In this session, which will last for 23 days, major bills are expected to be introduced and discussed, national security, economy and recent national developments like Operation Sindoor are also expected to be discussed.
Apart from this, the process of impeachment against Justice Verma will also be completed during the monsoon session of Parliament. According to the information, the impeachment motion can be brought in the first week of the session itself. Talks are going on between the government and the opposition on this issue, in which the opposition is also raising questions on the impeachment motion of Justice Yadav, on which the government says that this matter is pending with the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha and he will take the final decision on it.
