Security Guard Accidentally Fires Shot While Handling Cash at PNB Bank, Cash Leader Injured
Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): While carrying cash outside the PNB Bank located on Railway Road from Bhagat Singh Chowk under Police Station 3 of Jalandhar, the 12 bore rifle fell from the hand of the security guard and a bullet was fired. Due to the firing, the cash leader carrying the cash got hit by shrapnel in his leg. He got injured and has been admitted to the civil hospital for treatment. As soon as the information of the firing was received, there was an atmosphere of panic in the area. After this, the police of Police Station 3, which reached the spot, started the investigation of the case. When the police checked the CCTV cameras installed at the spot, it was revealed that while carrying the cash, the 12 bore rifle fell down from the hand of the security guard, due to which this accident happened.
ACP North Aatish Bhatia, who reached the spot, said that there is a chest branch of PNB Bank on Railway Road. There is a huge movement of cash from this branch every day. Due to which cash is taken from here to different branches every day. Due to this, today on Tuesday morning at around 10:00 am, one person had already taken the cash and when the second one was about to leave, the 12 bore rifle fell from the hand of the security guard deployed with him. When the rifle fell down, bullet fragments hit the cash leader Varun's leg. After this, he was admitted to the civil hospital for treatment.
