New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) on Sunday announced an increase in the fee for Fastag annual pass by Rs 75.
According to NHAI, users will now have to pay ₹3,075 for a FASTag annual pass, up from ₹3,000 previously. The new fee will be effective from April 1, 2026.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said, “NHAI has announced an increase in the applicable fee for FASTag annual pass from the current Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,075 for the financial year 2026-27.”
According to NHAI, this amendment has been made in accordance with the provisions of the National Highway Fee (Determination and Collection) Rules, 2008.
FASTag annual pass is becoming quite popular among private vehicle owners and currently more than 56 lakh users are availing it. The revised annual pass will be available for eligible non-commercial vehicles with valid FASTag. It can be used at around 1,150 toll plazas located on national highways and expressways across the country.
The FASTag annual pass saves users from frequent recharges by paying a one-time fee and is valid for one year or a maximum of 200 toll plaza crossings, whichever is earlier. This facility is designed to make highway travel more convenient and economical for regular commuters.
Once the payment is made, the annual pass gets activated within two hours on the existing FASTag linked to the vehicle. Users can purchase or renew the pass through the Highway Travel app or the official website of NHAI. It further said, “The annual pass gets activated within two hours on the existing FASTag linked to the vehicle after payment of one-time fee through the Highway Yatra app or the National Highways Authority of India website.”
The FASTag annual pass was launched on Independence Day, August 15, 2025. NHAI said the growing popularity of the pass reflects the convenience it offers to frequent travellers on national highways across India.
