New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Meta has informed about a big action and said that it has blocked 1 crore accounts which were secretly running duplicate profiles. The company has deleted these accounts in the first half of this year, which the company has named as Spammy Content.

Especially when the AI generated content on the social media platform is expanding so fast as if there is a flood here. The company has told that these fake accounts allegedly want to take advantage of Facebook's algorithm and audience size, for which they used to try to duplicate the accounts of big content creators.
The company has said that action has been taken against 5 lakh other accounts for wrong activity. Let us tell you here that these accounts were involved in comment spam, bot-like engagement and content recycling.
Meta has stated in its blogpost that Meta has informed about the new policy to reward original content creators, especially creators who create unique images or videos. Also, the company will now use a technique to detect duplicate content and reduce its size. This action of Meta has been taken at a time when the company itself is working on AI infrastructure on a large scale.
