After 10 months, woman who fled with son-in-law loses interest, reaches police station and says she wants to live alone
Aligarh (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking family dispute has once again surfaced in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, drawing public attention. Around 10 months after leaving her husband and children and fleeing with her son-in-law, the woman has now distanced herself from him as well. The woman suddenly reached the police station and claimed that she now feels threatened by her son-in-law. She requested police protection and clearly stated that she no longer wants to live with him and wishes to live alone.
The matter became more complicated when the son-in-law told the police that his mother-in-law had now left him too and allegedly fled with her brother-in-law. Woman alleges confinement and assault by son-in-law
The woman, identified as Sapna Devi, alleged before the police that she had been living a miserable life for the past 10 months. She accused her son-in-law Rahul of keeping her confined, physically assaulting her, and mentally harassing her. According to her statement, she no longer wants to stay with Rahul under any circumstances. She asked the police to ensure her safety and reiterated that she now wants to live independently.
Son-in-law claims woman fled with brother-in-law
In a surprising counter-claim, Rahul submitted a written complaint to the police accusing Sapna Devi and her relatives. He alleged that on February 6, she left the house without informing him. This time, he claimed, she fled with her brother-in-law. Rahul further alleged that while leaving, she took around ₹2 lakh in cash, along with a gold mangalsutra and a ring. He stated that she left when he had gone out, and later accused her of repeatedly changing partners.
