New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A major and shocking security breach occurred on Monday at the Delhi Assembly in the national capital. Despite heavy security, an unidentified car rammed into the Assembly's gate number two and forcibly entered the premises. This horrific security lapse caused widespread panic among the staff and security personnel present there. This incident occurred at a time when the Assembly received a bomb threat during the recently concluded budget session, which has put security agencies on edge.

The masked man had brought a car with UP number

According to police officials, around 2 pm on Monday, a masked man drove a car with a Uttar Pradesh registration number (UP-26 AZ 8090) and smashed the iron door of Gate No. 2. Shockingly, despite the presence of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel at the VIP gate, the masked man fearlessly advanced toward the office of Assembly Speaker Vijendra Gupta. He reached the Speaker's office veranda, placed a bouquet of flowers there, and then quickly fled in his car.

Police searching for the accused from CCTV footage

Upon receiving information about this major incident, top officials from the Delhi Police and security agencies immediately arrived at the scene. A Delhi Secretariat official stated that security personnel thoroughly examined the bouquet, and, reassuringly, found no suspicious or explosive objects. The police have launched an investigation, considering the entire incident a serious security lapse. Footage from all CCTV cameras installed within the Assembly complex and on the roads outside is being examined to identify and arrest the masked driver as soon as possible and to determine his true motive behind the incident.
