CM Rekha Gupta launches Atal canteens in Shalimar Bagh, Pitampura; serves meal to senior citizen

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated Atal Canteens in the Shalimar Bagh and Pitampura areas on Saturday. She cordially met with visitors and also shared a meal.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was accompanied by BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal at the inauguration of the Atal Canteen. He personally fed a poor woman.

CM Rekha Gupta had lunch at the Atal Canteen in Shalimar Bagh, pictures of which she shared on the social media platform 'X'.

In one photo, the Chief Minister was seen accepting a food token. Another photo shows her eating food. Another shows her sharing a meal with Praveen Khandelwal.

He wrote, "Inaugurated the Atal Canteen in Shalimar Bagh today and also had a meal. Hot and nutritious meals are available at the Atal Canteen for just 5 rupees. Inspired by the revered Atal Bihari Vajpayee's vision of Antyodaya, this initiative is a source of respect and support for our hardworking brothers and sisters involved in building and running Delhi."

The Chief Minister wrote, "Our government is continuously expanding basic amenities in the area for the all-round development of Shalimar Bagh, so that every family has access to convenience, every worker has respect, and every citizen has confidence. A large number of local people, including Municipal Councilor Anita Jain, were present on this occasion."

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also inaugurated the Atal Canteen in Pitampura. During the inauguration, she had a cordial meeting with an elderly woman and personally fed her. In the photographs, the Chief Minister is seen feeding the elderly woman, embracing her, and receiving her blessings.

He wrote, “Serving food in a plate at Atal Canteen, Pitampura and the love and blessings I received in return will always remain with me.”

Earlier, on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Delhi government inaugurated 45 of the proposed 100 "Atal Canteens" in the national capital. The initiative aims to provide affordable and nutritious food to people at very low prices.
