Horrific incident: Husband kills wife with gas cylinder, sits beside body holding child

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking murder case has come to light from the Pul Prahladpur area of Delhi, where a man allegedly killed his wife late Sunday night following a domestic dispute.

According to police, the accused attacked his wife multiple times on the head using a small gas cylinder, leading to her death. After committing the crime, he reportedly sat beside the body holding their 18-month-old child. Police reached the spot after receiving information, sent the शव for postmortem, and took the accused into custody.

As per a neighbour, the accused, identified as Suresh, killed his wife Poonam, with whom he had been living in a DDA flat for about a month. The neighbour alleged that the murder may have been driven by suspicion over the wife’s character. It was also claimed that after attacking her head, the accused broke her hand, resulting in her death. The child has been handed over to acquaintances for care.

Another neighbour said cries of “save me” were heard late at night. Residents rushed downstairs and found the door locked from inside. After calling the landlord and opening the door, they discovered the woman lying dead with a gas cylinder nearby, while the husband stood beside her holding the child.

Police have arrested the accused and initiated further investigation into the case.

In a separate incident earlier this month in the Rani Bagh area, a 17-year-old boy, Nikhil Yadav, was stabbed to death during a dispute at a wedding function. He had intervened to stop a fight over food when he was attacked. Another युवक was seriously injured in the incident and hospitalized.
