India’s First Disneyland May Come Up in Gurgaon, Says Haryana CM
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced that the state government is in talks with Disney officials to establish India’s first Disneyland-style amusement park near Manesar. A 500-acre site has been identified near Pachgaon Chowk, strategically located along the KMP Expressway and the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor, making it easily accessible from across NCR.
Saini said the project will significantly boost tourism, create thousands of jobs, and bring economic transformation to the region. He added that Gurgaon’s robust infrastructure and upcoming Global City project make it the ideal location for such a world-class theme park.
Apart from this, the state is also planning to expand key cultural events like the International Gita Mahotsav and the Surajkund Mela. Meanwhile, political reactions have surfaced, with INLD’s Abhay Chautala questioning BJP’s support, recalling how a similar Disneyland proposal in 1989 was opposed by the same party.
