Instagram luxury turns out to be an illusion: woman leaves husband and three children for lover, reality shocks her

Dumka (The Uttam Hindu): The glitter of social media often hides harsh realities, and a similar case has emerged from Dumka in Jharkhand. A woman who was impressed by a man’s lavish lifestyle on Instagram left her husband and three children and fled with her lover to Andhra Pradesh. However, once the truth came out, her dreams of wealth collapsed. The man she believed to be rich turned out to be a daily wage labourer, forcing her to return to her family.

Left husband and children behind

The incident is from the Saraiyahat police station area of Dumka. According to information, the 30-year-old woman came into contact with a young man from Andhra Pradesh through Instagram. He portrayed a luxurious lifestyle on social media, which deeply impressed her. Caught in this “digital romance,” the woman left her husband and three young children on January 12 and went to live with the man.

After his wife suddenly went missing, the distressed husband filed a missing complaint at the police station. He told the police that his wife used to frequently talk to someone on Instagram, which often led to arguments between them.

Truth revealed in Machilipatnam

Taking the complaint seriously, the police used technical surveillance. During the investigation, the woman’s location was traced to Machilipatnam in Krishna district. A special police team reached the location and recovered the woman.

There, the shocking reality came to light. The man who claimed to be wealthy on Instagram was actually working as a daily wage labourer. Seeing his real condition and living environment, the woman realised her mistake, as none of the comfort and luxury she had imagined existed there.

Husband accepts her back

Saraiyahat police station in-charge Rajendra Kumar said that the police team brought the woman back to Jharkhand. After counselling by her parents and the police, she agreed to return to her family. The case ended on a positive note when her husband showed maturity, forgave her, and accepted her back. The woman has now reunited with her husband and children.
