New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has achieved a major breakthrough in the investigation of the bomb blast near Delhi's Red Fort. The agency has arrested Yasir Ahmed Dar, a resident of Shopian district in Srinagar, from New Delhi. This is the ninth arrest in this high-profile case. The investigation has revealed that Yasir was actively involved in the terrorist plot and had even taken an oath to carry out the suicide attack. Considering the seriousness of the case, the Patiala House Court has remanded the accused to NIA custody until December 26th, where he will be interrogated to uncover further details of the conspiracy.

According to the NIA investigation, Yasin played a key role in the conspiracy behind the November 10 car bomb blast near the Red Fort that killed 11 people and injured several others. He was in constant contact with the deceased terrorist, Umar Un Nabi, and another accused, Mufti Irfan. The agency believes these accused were operating as an organized network. Yasin has been arrested under various sections of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) 1967 and the Indian Penal Code 2023.

The NIA, in collaboration with central and state agencies, is conducting a massive operation to completely dismantle this terrorist network. In this connection, raids were recently conducted at the locations of the main accused, Dr. Muzammil Shakeel Ghani and Dr. Shaheen Saeed, in Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and the Al Falah University campus in Faridabad, Haryana. Numerous digital devices and incriminating documents were seized during these raids. The NIA states that the investigation is progressing rapidly and every suspect connected to this network is being thoroughly investigated.
