Noida welcomes 2026 with development push: Clock Tower inaugurated, ₹600 crore investment secured
Noida (The Uttam Hindu): Under the guidance of the Chief Executive Officer, the Noida Authority welcomed the New Year 2026 in a grand manner with a focus on development, investment, and public welfare.
On the auspicious occasion of the New Year, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) took several important steps today to give Noida city a new identity, accelerate industrial development, and ensure the welfare of workers.
1. A New Identity for the City: Inauguration of Clock Tower in Sector 128
Promoting the beauty and infrastructure of Noida, the Chief Executive Officer inaugurated the newly constructed Clock Tower near the Hajipur Underpass in Sector 128. Built at a cost of approximately ₹30 lakh, this clock tower has been designed on the lines of the renowned Clock Tower of Mangalore and will provide a distinct identity to the area.
2. Investment of ₹600 Crore and 2,200 New Employment Opportunities
Taking the city’s economic development to new heights, allotment letters for industrial plots were issued to 10 major entrepreneurs under the e-auction scheme for the financial year 2025–26.
Key Companies: The allotted institutions prominently include M/s Haldiram Snacks Private Limited, M/s Nexem Energy, M/s Nelumbo Technologies, and M/s D & Grandsons, among other reputed companies.
Economic Impact: Through these plots, spread over a total area of 20,366 square meters, an investment of approximately ₹600 crore is proposed in the Noida region.
Employment Opportunities: This initiative is expected to generate around 2,200 new jobs for local youth, marking a significant step towards Atmanirbhar Bharat.
3. Social Responsibility: Support to Workers During Severe Cold
The Authority has prioritized not only development but also humanitarian values. In view of the severe cold conditions, blankets were distributed to around 150 contractual workers employed in the Horticulture Department and Public Health Department. This step by the Authority symbolizes respect and security for those workers who contribute day and night to keeping the city clean and green.
