Panic in Delhi as nine major schools receive bomb threats simultaneously
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A wave of panic swept through the national capital on Monday morning after nine prominent schools in Delhi received bomb threats. The threats were reported between 8:30 am and 9:00 am, triggering chaos among students, parents, and school staff. As soon as the information was received, teams of Delhi Police, fire brigade, and bomb disposal squads rushed to the affected schools. As a precautionary measure, all students and staff were safely evacuated, and intensive search operations were launched across the campuses.
Threat calls received at the same time
Initial investigations revealed that all nine schools received threat calls almost simultaneously, raising serious concerns for security agencies. Considering this pattern, authorities are treating the incident as a possible planned conspiracy. Police teams are currently working to identify the caller and trace the call locations to reach the culprits at the earliest.
List of schools targeted
The schools that received bomb threats are located in different parts of Delhi. These include Loreto Convent School in Delhi Cantt, Cambridge School in Srinivaspuri and New Friends Colony, Venkateshwar School in Rohini, Indian School in Sadiq Nagar, CM Shri School and Bal Bharati School in Rohini, DTA School in INA, and Vanasthali School in New Rajendra Nagar. Security forces have taken control of all these campuses and strict safety measures have been implemented.
Series of bomb threats continues in 2026
Notably, the series of bomb threats to schools in Delhi-NCR has continued since the beginning of 2026. Just a few days earlier, on February 7, more than 50 schools received bomb threats via email, leading to large-scale evacuations. Later, the Ministry of Home Affairs declared those threats as hoaxes. Similarly, between January 28 and 29, five schools including Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, Loreto Convent, and Don Bosco School received bomb threats, but after thorough checks, all premises were declared safe within hours.
