PM Modi Thanks Mauritius Government and People, Calls Trip Memorable After Returning to Delhi
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Delhi on Thursday after concluding his two-day state visit to Mauritius. Prime Minister Modi has thanked the people and government of Mauritius for the warm welcome he received during his visit. PM Modi wrote on social media platform X, "I thank Prime Minister Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam, the people and government of Mauritius for the warm welcome." He also shared a video of the second day of his Mauritius visit.
Let us tell you that this was the second time that Prime Minister Modi was the chief guest on Mauritius' National Day, the first time he attended as the chief guest was in 2015. During the ceremony, Mauritius President Dharambir Gokhool honored Prime Minister Modi with Mauritius' highest civilian honor 'Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean' (GCSK) award. This is the first time that an Indian leader has received this honor. Prime Minister Modi dedicated this award to the special friendship between India and Mauritius and to the 1.4 billion people of India and the people of Mauritius.
A marching contingent of the Indian Navy took part in the parade during the National Day celebrations. The Ministry of External Affairs wrote in an ex-post, "A milestone in India-Mauritius bilateral relations - our enhanced strategic partnership will further strengthen the region. Prime Minister Narendra Modi left Mauritius after a memorable visit. Prime Minister Ramgoolam saw off the Prime Minister at the airport." Earlier, Mauritius Prime Minister Ramgoolam had warmly welcomed Prime Minister Modi at the airport on Tuesday.
Before leaving Mauritius, Prime Minister Modi visited Ganga Talab. He prayed there. During this, PM Modi offered prayers of Prayagraj Maha Kumbh there. The Prime Minister's gesture of bringing holy water from the Maha Kumbh Mela to Ganga Talab not only reflects the spiritual unity between the two countries but also shows their commitment to preserve and carry forward those rich traditions.
Prime Minister Modi said that visiting Ganga Talao in Mauritius is a very emotional experience. Standing on the banks of its sacred waters, one can feel the deep spiritual connection that transcends boundaries and connects generations of people to their roots.
