New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Severe winter conditions disrupted normal life across Delhi and nearby regions as dense fog and smog covered large parts of North India. In Agra, the Taj Mahal remained completely out of sight for several hours due to extremely low visibility, leaving tourists disappointed. The thick fog significantly affected road, rail, and air traffic in the region.

Several flights at Delhi airport were delayed or diverted as visibility levels dropped sharply during the early morning hours. Train services were also impacted, with many long-distance trains running late. On highways and city roads, vehicles were seen moving at a very slow pace as drivers struggled to navigate through the foggy conditions.

Weather officials said that cold air, low wind speed, and high moisture levels contributed to the formation of dense fog and smog. Authorities advised people to avoid unnecessary travel during early morning hours and to follow safety guidelines while driving. Elderly people and those with respiratory problems were urged to take extra precautions.

The weather department has warned that similar conditions may continue over the next few days, especially during night and early morning hours. Citizens have been advised to stay updated with weather alerts as visibility may remain poor in several parts of Delhi-NCR and western Uttar Pradesh.
