New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Delhi Police have arrested two sleeper cell members linked to the banned Khalistani outfit Sikhs For Justice. According to police officials, both accused were working as sleeper cells for the organisation’s chief, Gurpatwant Singh Pannu. The arrests were made from Delhi.

Police said that just ahead of January 26, the accused attempted to disturb public harmony by writing pro-Khalistan slogans at two different locations in the national capital. During the investigation, it was revealed that Pannu had allegedly offered them ₹2 lakh to carry out the act. In exchange for the money, the accused wrote “Khalistan Zindabad” at two places in Delhi. Authorities stated that the entire plan was orchestrated from Canada.

Investigations further revealed that the task was assigned to the accused, Baljinder and Rohit alias Keerath, through a close associate of Pannu based in Canada. Baljinder works as an ambulance driver in Delhi, while Rohit was assisting him. Police also found that the mastermind of the conspiracy is a resident of Tilak Nagar, who had travelled to Canada a few days before January 26 and was in direct contact with Pannu from there. Efforts are ongoing to trace other associates linked to the case.

Ahead of Republic Day, the Special Cell of Delhi Police had registered an FIR against Sikhs For Justice for allegedly threatening to create unrest in the capital. An official said the case was registered under sections 196, 197, 152, and 61 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The action followed a video message released by Pannu on social media, in which he allegedly threatened to disrupt peace and law and order in Delhi before January 26.
