ASP Anuj Chaudhary steps in to aid Rajpal Yadav, announces relief amount
Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): Actor Rajpal Yadav is currently grappling with a financial crisis. He is currently in Tihar Jail in a check bounce case and is owed approximately ₹9 crore in debt. Several film stars have come forward to help him. Meanwhile, ASP Anuj Chaudhary, posted in Firozabad (Uttar Pradesh), has also offered assistance.
Many celebrities have come forward to help Rajpal Yadav during this difficult time. Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan, Sonu Sood, Tej Pratap Yadav, and many others have announced their support. Sonu Sood promised a film role and signing amount, while Tej Pratap Yadav donated ₹1.1 million. Now, a new name has been added to this list: Anuj Chaudhary, the Superintendent of Police (ASP) posted in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh.
Anuj Chaudhary announced his support for Rajpal Yadav by posting a video on the social media platform Facebook. He said, "Artists like Rajpal Yadav have made us laugh for years, giving us reasons to smile during difficult times. Those who bring joy to others should not be abandoned. I am personally inspired by Rajpal's comedy and spiritual thoughts."
He quoted a sentence, "Don't waste a single second of your life, because it won't come back. I promise to provide financial assistance of 51,000 rupees from my salary account. It's not a large amount, but I want to help to the best of my ability."
This case began in 2010, when Rajpal Yadav took a loan of ₹5 crore from a company for his film "Aata Pata Lapata." Due to the film's failure, he was unable to repay the loan, and the interest and penalties increased, resulting in the loan amount reaching ₹9 crore. The court granted him several opportunities, but he failed to repay the loan, resulting in a six-month sentence. He has been in jail since surrendering in February 2026.
