Court bomb threat: Varanasi judge gets email targeting UP judiciary, 1 PM deadline
Varanasi (The Uttam Hindu): An atmosphere of panic and terror prevailed in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh on Friday morning when the District Judge received a terrifying email. The email openly threatened to bomb the Varanasi court, Allahabad High Court, and the court premises of several other districts in the state, including Ayodhya. The person issuing the threat challenged the administration, setting a time of 1 pm and stating that 18 blasts would be carried out in a series. This information has left the police and administration in a state of panic.
The courthouse was evacuated, an unclaimed briefcase raised concerns
Upon receiving the threat, the police administration immediately swung into action. The process of evacuating the Varanasi court premises was initiated immediately. Keeping security in mind, all offices in the Collectorate, along with the court, and the registry office are also being evacuated. Amidst this hustle and bustle, the discovery of an unclaimed briefcase in the premises further increased the sensation. The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) has reached the spot and is investigating the briefcase. Meanwhile, due to the mention of the Ayodhya court in the email, an alert has been issued there as well. In Ayodhya, the court premises have been evacuated and an intensive checking campaign is being carried out.
Tamil Nadu connection and serious allegations against the media
According to police sources, this threatening email was sent from an ID belonging to a Tamil Nadu resident named Suniya Dasan. The email not only discusses bomb blasts, but also makes shocking and serious claims about an alleged collusion between the Tamil Nadu government and the media. The sender writes that the Tamil Nadu government intends to eliminate the media by 2021 and has hired prominent journalists to influence its side. The email expresses deep displeasure with media management.
Claims of supplying girls to journalists
The email's contents are highly objectionable and sensational. Accused Suniya Dasan alleges that prominent journalists are being sold to private companies to sway them to the government. The most shocking claim is that minor girls and women are being provided to appease these journalists. The email also mentions the collusion between a university professor and some local criminals. The sender has also specifically listed the names and ages of eight prominent journalists and the girls sent to them. The accused claims that his anger against the system will result in these bomb blasts. Currently, the police, with the help of the cyber cell, are investigating the authenticity of the email and tracing the sender's location.
