KBC viewers fume over 5th grade contestant's behavior, praise Amitabh's calm demeanor
Mumbai (Uttam Hindu News): The 17th season of "Kaun Banega Crorepati" (KBC) is known for its knowledge and entertainment, but a recent episode has sparked a new debate on social media. Fifth-grade student Ishit Bhatt, who sat on the hot seat, has become the subject of discussion more for his behavior than for his knowledge, which viewers have described as "overconfidence and rudeness."
The issue began when Ishit Bhatt arrived on the hot seat. His manner of speaking to the megastar of the century and host Amitabh Bachchan during the show did not sit well with the audience. The video clearly shows the child repeatedly interrupting Amitabh Bachchan, sometimes giving answers without even listening to the options. Furthermore, on a few occasions, he even advised the host to stop talking and ask the next question directly.
As soon as the episode aired, clips of it went viral on social media, and people began raising serious questions about the child's upbringing, as well as his parents'. The parents, who were beaming with pride at their son's behavior on the show, also came under fire. Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan's tolerance and patience are being widely praised.
The incident has drawn sharp reactions. One user wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "His parents are watching this behavior so proudly... Such parents should be ashamed."
A user named Vikku Vora wrote angrily, “I can understand how Mr. Amitabh Bachchan would have controlled himself, if I were there I would have taken off my shoe and hit him, you ill-mannered child, what values are the parents imparting these days.”
Another user commented, “No matter how overconfident the child is, he should at least have the manners to talk to elders.”
One user described the incident as a reflection of society, writing, "This is the problem with our society and our parents. They think bookish knowledge is everything, but they never teach us how to be a good human being."
