Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Amid the massive destruction caused by floods and rains in Punjab, neighbouring state Haryana has extended a helping hand. The Naib Saini government of Haryana has announced financial assistance of Rs 5 crore to Punjab in this hour of crisis. This step is a great example of mutual brotherhood and cooperation between the two states.

Even before this, the Haryana government has expressed its desire to help Punjab. Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini had written a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and assured all possible help.

In his letter, CM Naib Saini had written, 2 crore 80 lakh people of Haryana are always standing with Punjab for any help. Wherever you need help, we will provide immediate assistance. The Haryana government stands firmly with its brothers and sisters of Punjab in this time of trouble.

This financial assistance has come at a time when more than 12 districts of Punjab are in the grip of severe floods, affecting lakhs of people and causing huge loss of life and property. This move of the Haryana government is being appreciated.
