Haryana (The Uttam Hindu): The Haryana government has banned gutkha, pan masala and tobacco products in the state for one year. According to an order issued by the Food and Drug Department, the manufacture, storage, distribution and sale of these products have now been completely halted.
The government has clarified that anyone found selling tobacco despite the ban will face strict action. This step was taken with health in mind as tobacco and nicotine products are extremely harmful to human health. The central government already banned tobacco and nicotine products in 2011. Now, the Haryana government has also banned them for one year.
