Union Budget will give historic momentum to Haryana's industry, agriculture and youth power: CM Nayab Singh Saini
Chandigarh(The Uttam Hindu): Haryana Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini has welcomed the Union Budget 2026-27 presented by Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament, calling it extremely important for the development of Haryana. He said that this budget will give a new direction and new energy to the state's infrastructure, agriculture, industry, and youth employment.
The Chief Minister said that this is the first time in the country's history that the Union Budget has been presented on a Sunday. This reflects the visionary vision of the central leadership and their strong resolve to take the country forward rapidly.
He said that this budget is inspired by three main principles—accelerating economic growth, building the capabilities and aspirations of the people, and the spirit of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" (Together with all, development for all). This will directly benefit the youth, farmers, women, MSMEs, and the working class of Haryana. The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman for this pro-people budget.
The Chief Minister said that the total size of the Union Budget is Rs. 53.5 lakh crore, with capital expenditure increased to Rs. 12.2 lakh crore, which is approximately 9 percent more than the previous year. This increased capital expenditure will prove to be a boon for a rapidly developing state like Haryana.
He said that the budget provides for an additional tax share of Rs. 1.4 lakh crore to the states. The states' share has been retained at 41 percent as per the recommendations of the 16th Finance Commission. Haryana, which contributes significantly to central taxes, will receive strong and stable financial support from this. This amount will be used for education, health, rural development, roads, and other infrastructure projects, providing better facilities to the public. Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini said that the increased capital expenditure will accelerate rail, road, RRTS (such as the Delhi-Gurugram-Faridabad corridor), EV charging networks, Industrial Model Townships (IMTs), and other important projects across the country. New investments will come to IMT Kharkhoda, Manesar, and other areas in Haryana, creating millions of job opportunities. The increase in RIDF and UIDF will also strengthen rural and urban infrastructure.
Will be instrumental in developing skill development and technology hubs
The Chief Minister said that this budget has a special focus on Semiconductor Mission 2.0. This will greatly benefit Haryana's electronics, automobile, and manufacturing sectors. This budget will be instrumental in attracting new investments, developing skill development, and establishing technology hubs. The special provisions made for MSMEs, startups, and the biopharma sector will provide better employment opportunities for the youth of the state.
The Chief Minister said that Haryana is an agrarian state, and this budget has placed special emphasis on agriculture and rural development. Emphasis has been placed on crop diversification, water conservation, and increasing farmers' income. These new provisions will directly benefit the farmers and agri-industry of Haryana. At the same time, state schemes like 'Mera Pani – Meri Virasat' will gain national recognition.
He further added that the budget also focuses on future-oriented sectors such as medical tourism, artificial intelligence, skill development, carbon capture, and container manufacturing. Measures to control inflation, simplify taxes, and provide relief to the middle class will also greatly benefit the citizens of Haryana. The new initiative of ₹10,000 crore for biopharma and life sciences will strengthen the state's health sector.
A budget that establishes Haryana as a growth engine
Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini said that this budget will prove instrumental in establishing Haryana as a growth engine in realizing the vision of "Developed India @2047". He said that the strong partnership of the double-engine government will give new impetus to infrastructure, employment, prosperity, and youth power in the state. This budget of the central government will give new momentum to Haryana's progress.
