Heavy rain alert issued in Punjab and several other states
Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu) – Summer is about to end completely, and in the meantime, winter is about to arrive. However, the weather in Punjab is going to change soon. The Meteorological Center has issued a yellow alert regarding rain in the state from October 5. This alert is for three days. There is a warning of heavy rain on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The districts for which this alert is applicable include Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Fazilka and Muktsar.
Similarly, a western disturbance is expected to become active in Rajasthan between the 5th and 8th. Rainfall is likely to increase again in the state between October 6th and 8th. A well-marked low-pressure area has formed over the Kutch region. Radheshyam Sharma, director of the Meteorological Department's Jaipur center, said that according to the forecast, scattered rainfall is likely in the districts of Kota, Udaipur, Bharatpur, Jaipur, and Ajmer divisions until October 3rd. Similarly, an orange alert has been issued for Uttar Pradesh on October 4th and 5th. A yellow alert has been issued for western Uttar Pradesh on October 6th and 7th.
